What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Cedar Tree offers a range of courses tailored for supporting people with their Mental Health.
These courses can be attended by anyone from age 18 upwards.
Our MHFA course is delivered by a quality assured instructor.
Youth MHFA Champion ONE Day course
Youth MHFA Champions have:
- An understanding of common mental health issues and how they can affect young people
- Ability to spot signs of mental ill health in young people and guide them to a place of support
- Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
Skills to support positive well-being

On completion
Everyone who completes the course will receive a MHFA manual, a workbook and some helpful tools to support your own mental health and a certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aid Champion.

Learning takes place through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions.
