MHAfP-Info

The Cedar Tree Mental Health Awareness for parents seminar will give you a brief overview and understanding of the mental health landscape, with insights into the factors that affect well-being in young people and adults.

We will provide you with some knowledge on how to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s through the NHS, GP, self-help, or their place of learning, or a mix of a few – and engaging with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate.

We will run through the basics on how to support a young person with poor mental health, as well as give you tools to look after your own mental well-being.

We will also look at the effects of early childhood adversity and the circumstances that can mitigate the possible negative outcomes.

There will also be a story of hope through lived in experience of mental ill-health.
